Exploration of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras 12–16
What is the foundation of true inner stability and spiritual progress? In Sutras 12–16 of the Samādhi Pāda, Patanjali offers two essential pillars: Abhyāsa—steadfast, dedicated spiritual practice, and Vairāgya—the art of letting go with wisdom and grace.
In this 4-week course we will learn how to sustain our inner effort while releasing the subtle tendencies that bind us to restlessness, desire, and identity.
Together we will explore:
- The true meaning and essence of Abhyāsa (practice that leads to steadiness of mind)
- The twofold nature of Vairāgya—lower detachment and higher renunciation
- How to cultivate non-attachment without suppression or conflict
- The signs of progress on the yogic path, as described in Sutra 16
